Clubs are a huge part of basketball in Scotland and basketballscotland is pleased to offer a comprehensive programme for club development in Scotland. Through this, we hope to recognise good practice, build a relationship with our clubs and to encourage clubs to develop, increasing their capability and their capacity. More specifically, the aims of RAF clubbasketball include: - Increasing / sustaining club membership
- Improving volunteer development for club administration and organisation
- Raising the standards of coaching and officiating within clubs
- Improving communication
- Developing competition opportunities for all levels and ability
- Developing links with schools and communicates
- Embracing LTPD
- Making clubs safer
RAF clubbasketball encompasses eight key areas: - clubstart - start-up pack for new clubs with essential information
- clubpathway – club accreditation scheme
- clubresources – resources and templates available online and in hard copy
- clubbroadcasts – fortnightly e-newsletters to all clubs
- clubinfo - folder presented to all basketballscotland affiliated clubs with information
- clubforum – annual club development conference, free to all clubs
- clubmeet – invitation given to all clubs to meet with basketballscotland staff - if you would like to arrange a clubmeet, please contact the Club Development Manager
- clubgrants - three different grants available to affiliated clubs for club development, volunteer training and child protection training
