sportscotland have recognised the importance of engaging females into coaching roles in the new Coaching Scotland strategy. Workforce development planning has shown that the gender balance in basketball is 70:30 (male:female) across all provision.

basketballscotland is working to motivate and encourage more females to step onto the court and take on a coaching role; be it as a leader, assistant coach or head coach.
